The basis of the majority of health issues comes from what our body is exposed. The air that we breathe, food that we eat and how much physical activity we get has a lot to do with the condition of our skin, muscles and bones. The human body needs a proper amount of vitamins to function to its full potential. Although it’s stressed as most important for children as the body is growing, it’s even more crucial as we grow older and adopt a daily routine. It’s equally as important to sustain the health of our bodies as adults so that we can reap the most benefits from living and developing as individuals.
The importance of nutrition can be seen in every culture and in every belief system, regardless of our differences. Could it be that fruits and vegetables are actually a tool for us that we can use and take advantage of to embrace a more fulfilling consciousness? We have so much research dedicated to the power of food nourishment yet many people suffer with many diseases and mental illnesses that could very well be the product of unhealthy eating. Regardless of who we are, there is a spiritual connection between our bodies and the food that we eat.
Amanda Tirada is a teacher who was able to lose 11 pounds by simply eating healthy. While she has always worked out and made sure that she eats right she has struggled with her weight due to the constant stress of work and obligations. By planning out her grocery lists and making sure that she has only healthy ingredients in her house and by adopting her own meal plan, she was able to see quality results. By organizing what she was going to eat for the entire week she wasn’t pressure to cave in and grab the food that was merely convenient and available to her. With quick 15 minute workouts daily she was able to shed 11 pounds within 6-8 weeks.
Occupational therapists, nutritionists and physical therapists make it a mission to address the importance of drinking water and cleaning eating. Practicing a poor diet causes the majority of obesity and is a key strategy in curing many mental illnesses. Our brain cells are extremely sensitive to the nutrients that is put into the body and some people are far more sensitive to nutrients and toxins in the body, more so than others (which is why a diet and fitness regime differs with each person.) Teaching patients about healthy eating is often the beginning of many transformations taking place. Once anyone experiences the benefits that come from healthy eating it’s easy to understand its powerful effect.
